Greets patients and visitors, is the first “face” of the client. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for registering and scheduling all types of patients, inpatient, outpatient and emergency department patients. As a part of the registration and scheduling process, the Patient Access Representative ensures accurate patient identity and verifies demographic and insurance information.

Shift: Evening/Overnights/Weekends as needed for coverage
Job Schedule: Variable Schedule, current need overnights
Hours: 32/wk
FTE: .8
*Pay Range: Pay Range: $19.25-$25.02, plus evening/weekend differentials
What you’ll get to do in this role:
Greets and guides patients and visitors to their destinations with a courteous, respectful and professional manner.
Registers patients with correct patient identity and accurate information within the electronic record system (Epic). Verifies insurance coverage.
Schedules appointments and checks in appointments.
Obtains patient consent for treatment.
Scans consent forms, EKGs and other documents as requested into Epic.
Completes missing account information through assigned work queues.
Works closely with other departments to ensure patients are receiving services (ED Nursing, Lab, Imaging).
Monitors patient and visitor access through the Emergency Department entrance during the night. (11pm-7am Shift)
Cleans Admitting work area and adjacent public areas when needed.
You’re an excellent fit, if you have:
- education in the medical field, medical office assistant certification, or medical terminology
- experience in patient access role preferred
- excellent customer service skills
- good attention to detail
- ability to work independently
