Automotive Sales Consultant
Bloomington, Minnesota · Direct Hire · Applying is free — our fee is paid by the employer.
Most of our best Customer Specialists did not arrive knowing anything about cars. They
arrived knowing how to show up, treat people well, and figure things out. We handled
the rest, and we still do through Walser’s Automotive Sales Consultant training program,
which is certified by the VA and eligible for both Federal and MN GI Bill ®
At Walser, we're committed to investing in our people. We foster a culture built on family,
career growth, diversity, and opportunity.
About the Role
A Customer Specialist is the one person a customer works with from first hello to keys
in hand. You are not passing them to a closer. You are not walking to the back to talk to
a manager. Our pricing is transparent and posted, which means your job is not
negotiating. It is listening, matching someone to the right vehicle, and making the
process feel easy.
That changes what the job takes. The people who thrive here are not slick. They are
curious, organized, and genuinely good with people.
One Person, Start to Finish
No handoffs, no haggling, no pressure. You own the relationship from the first
conversation through delivery and beyond.
Schedule and Pay
Your pay: $40,000 base salary plus incentive earnings. The base is your floor, not your
target. Once established, Customer Specialists at Walser typically earn $70,000 to
$100,000 per year, all in, and top performers earn more. New hires ramp into that, and
we will be straight with you about what year one realistically looks like before you accept
anything.
Your schedule: Full-time, including evenings and weekends. Saturdays are part of the
rotation, as that is when many of our customers need us.
Training and Development
Everything technical about this role is something we teach. With paid training and
continued coaching afterward, you will learn:
? How to run a deal from first conversation through delivery
? Product knowledge across our brands, including what is on the vehicle and why it
matters
? Our pricing model, and how to explain it clearly and confidently
? Financing, trade-in valuation, and the paperwork that makes a deal hold up
? Our CRM, so your pipeline and follow-up never fall through
What You'll Do
? Guide customers through the full vehicle purchase from first hello to keys in hand
? Listen first, and understand what someone actually needs before you show them
anything
? Know the inventory and the product well enough to answer real questions
honestly
? Run test drives, walk customers through features, and handle the delivery
? Manage paperwork, financing conversations, and trade-in details accurately
? Follow up after the sale and build a repeat and referral customer base that
becomes your own
? Keep your pipeline organized in our CRM so nothing and nobody falls through
? Uphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display
Positive Energy, Be Open Minded
Who We're Looking For
Many of our strongest Customer Specialists joined us from restaurants, retail,
hospitality, call centers, and the trades. These are roles where you learn to read a
person quickly, stay composed when things go sideways, and follow through on what
you promised. Those qualities are difficult to teach, and they matter most in this job.
Not required: dealership experience, automotive knowledge, a technical background,
or a college degree.
Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our customers speak Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and other languages, and someone
who can meet a guest in their own language makes a meaningful difference in that
guest's experience. It is not required, but it is valued on this team.
What You Bring
? A drive to learn. Curiosity and coachability are the core requirements of this role
? The ability to work with urgency while remaining composed
? Strong verbal and written communication skills, and genuine care for the
customer experience
? Organized self-starter habits. A lot of this job is follow-through nobody has to
remind you about
? Beginner to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
? High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
? Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
What's In It For You
? Health Benefits – medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield,
plus HSA and FSA access and company-paid life insurance
? 401(k) with Employer Match – plus Paid Time Off and an Employee Assistance
Program (EAP)
? Career Growth – we promote from within, with defined career paths, mentorship,
and managers invested in your next role
? Fertility and Adoption Assistance – up to $10,000 toward treatment and
adoption expenses
? Paid Clothing Program – branded Walser apparel twice a year, on us
? Employee Discounts – exclusive pricing across products and services, plus
referral bonuses
? Employee Resource Groups – Women of Walser, Drive with Pride, Asian
Hmong Alliance, and Veterans at Walser
? Community Involvement – volunteer through the Walser Foundation and
support causes across the communities we serve
A Note on the Work
This is a sales floor. You will be on your feet, indoors and outdoors, in Minnesota
weather, and some days move quickly. If that sounds like your kind of day, we
encourage you to apply.
If you want to be the person a customer asks for by name, we want to hear from you.

Before you apply.
Does this cost me anything?
No. Never has. The employer pays our fee when you're hired. If any recruiter anywhere asks you for money to get a job, walk away.
Is this temp work?
No. Every role here is direct hire — you're on the employer's payroll, with their benefits, from your first day. We're not a temp agency.
Will my current employer find out?
Not from us. We don't send your resume anywhere without telling you which company and getting your okay first.
What if none of these fit?
Send a resume anyway. Roughly a third of what we fill never gets posted, and we work from the pipeline when a client calls.
Don't see your role?
Send us a resume and tell us what you're after. When it opens — and things open weekly — you'll hear from us first.
